The Ultimate Test of Patience

Is waiting for the camera you ordered 3 and a half months ago.

First mistake I made: Putting in the pre-order only after I got the money to cover the camera, because I didn’t expect the Amazon wait-list to be so long.

Second mistake I made: Not going to a smaller retailer when I realized that the waiting was going to be a lot longer than I expected.

Lesson learned: Pre-order early from small retailers for popular releases.

It’s a race of time between my D800 and the wedding I’m shooting next weekend. Pre-orders dating three days in front of me (March 28th) are just getting shipped out this week, so I’m hoping that Amazon’ll pull through at the last minute. If not, it’s off to rentlenses.com for me.
